Dr. Thomas Marx joined the Sibelco Board in December 2025. He currently also serves on three Advisory Boards of the MINSHIP Group since 2016, in two of these as the Chairman.
Mr. Marx had a corporate career in various managerial capacities of initially almost ten years in the glass industry with Schott and Pilkington working both in the USA and Germany followed by some 30 years in the industrial minerals industry. Mr. Marx was Managing Director of Amberger Kaolinwerke followed by a career in Süd-Chemie AG as President and CEO of the US operations and eventually Group Vice President as the Business Unit Manager for the Adsorbents and Additives Division, a worldwide operation.
Mr. Marx holds an MBA from INSEAD, a PhD and MSc from Clausthal University in Material Sciences / Ceramic Engineering and an MSc in Economics from the Universities Göttingen and Hagen.
Mr. Marx exercises the current Sibelco Board mandate as a permanent representative of GlaCerMin GmbH.
