Held in Rome in June 2022, the 13th Beach Volleyball World Championships were the most-watched in the event’s history. And the 16 million fans who tuned in saw all of the games played out on Sibelco sand.

For the World Championships in Rome, Sibelco was chosen as the preferred sand supplier by event organisers, Sport e Salute, on behalf of the FIVB*. Before usage COBANASIL® was certified by an external lab on behalf of FIVB.
With certification complete, our local team supplied 1,250 tonnes of COBANASIL® from our site in Fossanova, working closely with Sport e Salute throughout to ensure that the project ran smoothly from start to finish.
Coverage of the 10-day event was beamed around the world via 17 live broadcasters, placing Sibelco firmly in the spotlight for a global audience of sports fans!
